The Pool Safety Council has been wound up and its functions transferred to the QBCC. The QBCC Pool Safety and Plumbing Compliance Unit will now handle technical matters and disciplinary issues. A consultative group will be created by Building Codes Queensland with members drawn from the previous Pool Safety Council. As at November the 5th 2014 there were:
• 346,533 registered pools,
• 60,196 current pool safety certificates issued
